Barcamp Charlotte 3 recap

Posted on 12 Apr 2010 by James Willamor

Barcamp Charlotte 3 took place on Saturday, bringing together technology, design and creativity at Area Fifteen. Around 150 attendees pitched ideas for sessions and then voted on their favorites.

Sessions ranged from freelancing, to civics 101, budget film making, Google, social media, mobile development, tips on marketing, and an intro to massage therapy.

One session even included a field trip, lead by D.I. von Briesen, to tour the Ecobox sustainable building project at CPCC. One of the last sessions of the day included a discussion on how to standardize Twitter hastags within the Charlotte community.

Check out Eric Frazier’s barcamp recap in the Observer, Eric Orozco’s thoughts on what was missing from barcamp, photos of the event by Tom Bonner and Andy Ciordia, and see what others are saying  about Barcamp Charlotte 3 on Twitter.

Thaks so much for the opportunity t speak to all of you about @ItalianFestival, the Italian Festival for charity we will have on May 16th at 1pm at 309 E. Morehead St uptown Charlotte. As I mentioned all the proceedings will benefit the Nevins Center for the disabled a local charity here in Charlotte. We will have unlimited Italian food and unlimited Italian wine all day with some of the best Italian chefs we have in Charlotte! There are at least 4 ways you can take part to this event: 1. Come party with us, I can guarantee you from 1pm to 8pm you will make your admission ticket money worth! 2. We need all the help we can get to enhance our web presence: we are looking for volunteers: a videographer, a photographer, a website graphic designer, a website developer, a social media expert, please connect with me for an amazing opportunity to volunteer for the greater good. 3. We will be accepting silent auction items till April 22, so if you would like to donate one of your products or services and get your name out please feel free to connect with me. Finally if none of the above applies to you, please consider to get the word out about our festival by following us on twitter @ItalianFestival and covering our story. Grazie mille! Paolo
