Help CLT Blog host Bobby DeMuro get to Turkey!
Posted on 29 May 2012 by Bobby DeMuro
The nation of Turkey is an emerging global power. Boosted by a strong economy and a history of democracy, and sitting at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Turkey’s achievements make it a nation soon to be elite.
We have an awesome opportunity to film a documentary television pilot showcasing Turkey’s successes culturally and economically, and what the success means for the rest of the world.
We’ll be visiting Istanbul, Ankara, and the region of Cappadocia, where we will be interviewing Turkish leaders, covering unique aspects of Turkey’s success, and documenting how Turkish people are innovating in business, culture, and politics.
We’re fortunate to partner with the Divan Center, a Turkish-American cultural organization, who is generously covering our accommodations and lodging within Turkey once we arrive.
The world of independent, new media journalism isn’t so, um, glamorous — and funding is always hard to come by. We don’t want to let an amazing opportunity slip by, or fail to do it to the best of our ability, and we know the Queen City brings it when it’s time to raise funds for great projects and important events.
So bring it! Your support covers the cost of our airplane tickets, as well as renting lenses and accessories to make our footage the highest quality. Your support goes to the people you love (us!) and helps a hard-working local organization take on an amazing project that could really change some lives.
Check out our Kickstarter page for the documentary, where you can help fund the cost of our project — we appreciate any support you are able to provide!
But hurry — we’ve only got until June 5th to raise funds, and we leave for Turkey on June 21st!
