Interactive debate w/ CMS School Board candidates, live on CLT Blog Wed evening

Posted on 17 Oct 2011 by Shannise Jackson-Ndiaye

Mecklenburg Citizens for Public Education will be hosting an interactive debate with CMS School Board Candidates, Wednesday, October 19th from 78:30 pm at the Overcash Center on CPCC Main Campus, in partnership with WFAE, CLT Blog, and Kids Voting.

From MeckEd’s website:

Why is this election critical?

School board elections are always an important vehicle for Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents to support and advocate for our public schools. This election on November 8, 2011 is especially crucial because there are 13 candidates vying for the three at-large seats. The three who are elected will help set the course for the district over the next four years and make decisions that affect students across the county, including selecting CMS’ next superintendent.”

You can RSVP to the event here.

In addition, you can take part in the event by watching the livestream here on CLT Blog, and tweeting or texting your votes for what questions you want answered during the debate.

We’ll have more information soon on where and how to send in your votes. Stay tuned!
