Earlier today Vice Presidential hopeful Joe Biden came to UNC Charlotte to help get people to the polls and vote early (you only have until Nov. 1 to vote early in NC). Biden was introduced by NC Attorney General Roy Cooper and was greeted by a fairly filled Halton Areana. Joe Biden’s speech focused on the campaign’s message of change, and Biden really expressed his goal for empowering the middle class. Obama and Biden supporters were thrilled by the visit and many of them brought their home-made signs to go along with the official campaign signs.
This is the 3rd time the Obama campaign has been to Charlotte and the first time they have spoken at UNCC’s campus. Earlier in the year Bill Clinton spoke at UNCC to support Hillary when she was running in the primaries. Now that North Carolina has become a big battleground state, Charlotte has become a key city to capture in winning NC and maybe the election.
